Brisbane Metro

Brisbane Metro is a high-capacity, high-frequency public transport system that links the city to the suburbs, making it easier to connect with people and places across Brisbane. Metros operate along dedicated busways, connecting 18 stations from Eight Mile Plains to Roma Street, and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital to the University of Queensland.

The Project

The Comms Team has been a part of the Brisbane Metro multi-disciplinary project team for more than eight years. We have worked with Council to plan and deliver an effective community and stakeholder engagement program through all project phases from pre-feasibility to implementation.

Working closely with Council’s team, our consultants planned and delivered multiple rounds of city-wide communication and engagement activities to ensure residents, stakeholders and public transport customers were well informed and had the opportunity to help shape this city-changing project.

Our team was responsible for strategy development, preparing communication materials, managing feedback channels, reporting and event delivery across the city, including at markets, festivals, forums, libraries and high-traffic areas.

To assist Council with the successful implementation of Metro services, which included significant changes to the bus network across Brisbane, we rapidly established a dedicated street team as part of a significant resourcing initiative. The team was responsible for supporting customers with travel changes as they navigated the new network.
