Gympie Road Bypass Tunnel

The Queensland Government commissioned QIC, through North Brisbane Infrastructure, to investigate the feasibility of a new tolled bypass tunnel under Gympie Road between Kedron and Carseldine. A detailed investment proposal was prepared, and further planning investigations undertaken across the project corridor.

The Project

With very tight timeframes available, The Comms Team rapidly mobilised a team of consultants to plan and implement a major consultation and engagement program to ensure effective community awareness and involvement.

Core to the program was the design and implementation of a widespread multi-faceted engagement strategy to introduce the project to the community, understand stakeholder views and perceptions, and support the project’s early planning phase. This included managing site investigations at various locations across the project corridor.

As part of this, our approach saw the implementation of a five-week consultation period, which included a series of focus groups conducted with a market research partner to gain further insights and gather a wide range of stakeholder feedback to inform decision-making processes.

To support the program, our strategy also included the delivery of an integrated advertising and social media campaign to enhance project awareness and engagement, channel management, data analysis of stakeholder feedback and the preparation of investment proposal inputs.
